Slipperyfish and Sparksite
About our 'Finding help' facility for children and young people
The 'finding help' tool you have been using has been created to help children and young people in Wiltshire understand more about their worries and to show them that there are lots of people out there who can help.
You will have been viewing this finding help tool through either www.slipperyfish.org.uk or through the “Go Urgent” section within www.sparksite.co.uk. The tool appears on these two sites in slightly different ways:
www.slipperyfish.org.uk shows content designed to help 7 to 12 year olds in Wiltshire. The language is child-friendly and has worries appropriate to that age group (eg being bullied, changing schools, etc).
Sparksite Go Urgent! is a section within a larger site at www.sparksite.co.uk. (Sparksite is a teenagers website designed and run by young people under the guidance of Wiltshire College and Wiltshire Council. For more information about Sparksite please click here.) The finding help tool on this site is called “Go Urgent” and is written in language appropriate for 13 to 19 year olds. The Go Urgent facility contains worries more suited for this older age group (eg being a teenage mum or dad, smoking, etc).
Both Slipperyfish's and Sparksite’s Go Urgent search facility is run by the Pathways Team on behalf of the Wiltshire Children & Young People’s Trust Board. To find out more about the Trust please visit Wiltshire Pathways (the site is a resource for professionals supporting children and families in Wiltshire and this page sits within the Wiltshire Pathways site).
