(NEET) Reduction Action Plan 2012-2013 Draft Version | Last Updated: 20 August 2012
The purpose of the NEET Reduction Action Plan is to reduce the number of young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) in Wiltshire. The plan also supports the local strategy and plan to Raise the Participation Age (RPA) to 17 in 2013 and 18 in 2015. The plan contributes to the delivery of commissioning priority one of the 11-19 Commissioning Strategy – supporting young people into employment and training. The plan has been produced in response to a ‘Turn the Curve’ report on employment and training, which was discussed and agreed by the 13-19 Strategic Board in February 2012.

Draft Early Intervention Strategy 2012-15 | Last Updated: 12 April 2013

This is an early draft of our Early Intervention Strategy which sits alongside the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board/Children’s Trust’s Multi-Agency Thresholds Document. The Thresholds Document supports professionals working across Children’s Services to access the right level of support for children and young people with additional needs at an early stage through a single agency referral or the Common Assessment Framework. The Thresholds Document is currently being reviewed.
This strategy aims to highlight Wiltshire’s approach to early intervention and to provide guiding principles and priorities for all members of the LSCB and Children’s Trust to promote:
• Good identification of risk and need, and resilience in children and their families;
• Access to timely, quality early help services;
• Sharing of information about vulnerable children and families across different services and agencies.
Early intervention aims to influence and support parents, children and young people to develop their skills and resilience to manage the challenges that they may be faced with at key turning points/transitions in their lives. It is appropriate across all ages.

Our vision is for an integrated workforce that ‘works together to improve outcomes for children and young people whilst respecting the skills knowledge and expertise of each speciality. Our workforce will be valued for its contribution and accountable for its actions’.
