Wiltshire Hidden Harm Strategy 2011 – 2014 | Last Updated: 20 August 2012


The Wiltshire Hidden Harm Working Protocol has been produced on behalf of the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board and the Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership to enhance excellence in practice and guidance for frontline practitioners who support and promote the welfare of children, parents and families with problematic substance misuse.
(NEET) Reduction Action Plan 2012-2013 Draft Version | Last Updated: 20 August 2012
The purpose of the NEET Reduction Action Plan is to reduce the number of young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) in Wiltshire. The plan also supports the local strategy and plan to Raise the Participation Age (RPA) to 17 in 2013 and 18 in 2015. The plan contributes to the delivery of commissioning priority one of the 11-19 Commissioning Strategy – supporting young people into employment and training. The plan has been produced in response to a ‘Turn the Curve’ report on employment and training, which was discussed and agreed by the 13-19 Strategic Board in February 2012.

The Children & Young People’s Trust has developed a 16-25 Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Support Commissioning Strategy which sets out how we intend to better plan for and prepare young people with SEND for positive outcomes in adulthood within Wiltshire. Nationally the future shape of provision and support for young people with SEND has been subject to a radical rethink. A key feature is to put more choice and control in the hands of parents/carers and young people themselves. This strategy explains Wiltshire’s vision; the national and local context; a comprehensive needs analysis; views of stakeholders; examples of best practice; a review of existing services and learning provision; financial expenditure; commissioning priorities; and how the strategy will be taken forward and implemented.

Accommodation and Support for Vulnerable Young People aged 16-25 | Last Updated: 19 March 2014
The purpose of the strategy is to ensure we provide young people aged 16-25 with good quality accommodation and support which promotes independent living where we have a statutory duty to do so for vulnerable young people. This Strategy covers the following groups:
• Young people who are 16 or 17 and are homeless
• Looked after young people and care leavers
• Young offenders and young people leaving custody
• Pregnant teenagers and teenage parents and their children
• Vulnerable young people who are either ‘Children in Need’ under the Children Act 1989 or ‘Priority Need’ under the Housing Act 1996 and 2002 Homelessness Order

Our vision is for an integrated workforce that ‘works together to improve outcomes for children and young people whilst respecting the skills knowledge and expertise of each speciality. Our workforce will be valued for its contribution and accountable for its actions’.
