General Description : Family Centres provide a range of services including:• practical advice and support for parents;
• groups to support parents and promote parenting skills;
• support groups for children
• individual sessions with children and with parents.
Access and Availability : Family Centres are available in only a few parts of Wiltshire. Most have some services that are open access but others services can be accessed only by those referred with high levels of need.

1. Ref A1: Children & young people who live in inadequate accommodation or are homeless
2. Ref A2: Children & young people who live in disadvantaged neighbourhoods
3. Ref B1: Children whose mothers suffer post-natal depression
4. Ref B2a: Children & young people where there are health or disability problems within the family
5. Ref B2b: Children & young people where there are drug or alcohol misuse problems within the family
6. Ref B3: Children & young people from families under stress - because of low income and unemployment
7. Ref B4: Children & young people from families under stress - because of relationship problems (between parents or parent/child)
8. Ref B5: Children & young people who are exposed to domestic violence
9. Ref B6a: Children & young people who experience family breakdown, separation or divorce (incl change of home base and carer)
10. Ref B6b: Children & young people who experience a family bereavement
11. Ref B7: Children who have not experienced attachment to a main carer
12. Ref B8: Children & young people who are not able to live at home
13. Ref B9: Children & young people who are at risk of running away
14. Ref C1: Children & young people who receive poor physical care
15. Ref C2: Children & young people who do not receive stimulation, support and encouragement from their family environment, including children whose parents have poor literacy skills
16. Ref C3: Children & young people who are exposed to emotional stress – through rejection, inconsistent parenting, unrealistic expectations
17. Ref C4: Children & young people who do not receive appropriate parental guidance or control
18. Ref D1: Children & young people who experience multiple changes of school placement

20. Ref D3: Children & young people who are out of school - because of exclusion or truancy
