23 March 2012Wiltshire Local Safeguarding Children Board and Wiltshire Council are responsible for providing inter agency child protection training for the children’s workforce. It is acknowledged that, due to the nature of their work, some members of the workforce might find difficulty in attending the training that is currently provided. In recognition of this a new initiate is being launched whereby evening sessions and weekend morning sessions will be introduced for the Foundation Level Course.
This course is intended for staff working with Children & Families, to include Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Residential Care Workers, Foster Carers, Teachers, Education Welfare Officers, Young People Support Service, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Army Welfare Officers, Probation Officers, Connexions Advisors, Police Officers, Youth Offending Teams or Staff from Voluntary Agencies.
Each Course will be split into two sessions and delegates will be expected to attend both sessions in order to receive a certificate. Saturday morning sessions will be from 10.00am to 12.30pm and Evening sessions will be from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.
