This course will give you an understanding of working together to help children achieve the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes, understand and confidently explain the processes involved, and know where to go if help is required.

E Learning module to be taken at own pace. Recommended completion is maximum of 4-6 weeks in order to allow booking on to further categories of training.

Earlier this month the Department for Education advised that ContactPoint will not have a long term future but that Local Authorities are required, for the time being, to facilitate the Interim operation of ContactPoint. This means that we will continue to shield / review shielded records, separate and archive pre / post adoption information to protect the identity of an adopted child and continue to run audit report on ContactPoint users. In the Longer term the Local Authority will be advised by Government as to when ContactPoint will cease to operate. Currently a ‘feasibility’ study is being undertaken to look at how the technical knowledge and learning from ContactPoint can be used in the future to develop a signposting system for the most vulnerable children we work with but there is no timescale identified at this time with respect to when these finding may be published.

For the reasons above the ContactPoint module in the Integrated Working elearning programme will remain and you will be required to complete as part of the learning
